USAID supports the Government of Ethiopia in procuring contraceptive commodities, which has greatly increased the contraceptive prevalence rate reported in the last decade. The Government of Ethiopia developed a new initiative promoting long-acting and permanent methods, including the introduction of Implanon insertion at the community level and strengthening of IUCD insertion and removal services.
